The Bank of Namibia (BoN) National High School Competition is currently underway, with all 184 secondary schools that registered for this year’s event competing for stationery vouchers of N$1 000.

The competition is aimed at educating students on the role of the central bank, while exposing them to the fundamentals of the country’s economy, financial literacy and developmental issues.

Each school is represented by four learners from grades 8 to 12, with a teacher providing the necessary guidance.

The regional winners automatically qualify for the semi-finals taking place in Windhoek on 27 July, with the finale scheduled for 28 July at the Safari Hotel. The winning school will take home N$50 000, while the runner-up goes home with N$30 000. The school in third place receives N$10 000, while the school in fourth place gets a printer. – Nampa
