More than just coffee

Komnik & Franck has been around since 1954 and although much have changed over the years, they are still known for the quality of their products.

The company was founded by Anton Komnik and George Franck and its aim was to serve as a manufacturing representative business. They took orders from customers to order goods from manufacturers and they earned a commission that way.

The company first operated as home business from a garage in Klein Windhoek Road, now known as Nelson Mandela Avenue. They started with three employees, which was expanded to 22 employees who now serve in different departments.

Hellmut Kries joined the business in 1984 as a new business partner. In March 2009 the business moved to 48 Cobalt Street in Prosperita, from where it still operates.

The original products offered by the company were clothing, footwear, wool, coffee and industrial resins, but due to customer demands, the products have changed over years. Currently coffee is the only product from the original range that is still available from them.

They also sell equipment, wines, spa products and amenities, hospitality supplies, juices, jams, oils, spices and coffees.

At their Barista Training Centre, which openend in April 2015, they offer a barista training course that provides the skills and knowledge in the preparation of various coffee products.

The venue at the centre can also be used for wine, grappa and brandy tasting events.

In February 2016 Jürgen Cronje joined the team as another business partner.
