Your daily cup of get-up-and-go

Gerine (WE) Hoff
From the land of tea and tennis, we bring you Tetley: a full-bodied tea, fondly known for its quality and big taste.

Established in Britain in 1837 and brewed from some of the world's finest teas, the brand is steeped in history.

Today it's the second largest tea brand in the world, and one of the UK's top teas.

In fact, every day millions of cups of Tetley tea are enjoyed in 40 countries across the globe.

And with a teabag that's 10% bigger than regular 2,5g teabags, you get even more of that magical Tetley flavour in every cup.

Brewing tips

Start with fresh, cold water.

(The better the water quality, the better the tea will taste.) Place a tea bag in your favourite cup or mug. Bring water to a rolling boil and immediately pour over your tea bag.

Steep for a good 3 to 5 minutes. (Great taste can't be rushed—it really does take the full time to release the tea's entire flavour.) Remove the tea bag, relax and enjoy! Serve it “clear” or try it with milk and sugar.)

Green Tea

Again, start with fresh, cold water. Place a tea bag in your favourite cup or mug. Bring water to a rolling boil, remove from heat to cool for a moment and pour over your tea bag. Green tea leaves are delicate—boiling water will bruise the leaves, causing a bitter taste. With green tea, steep for only a minute or two.

Oversteeping green tea will result in a harsh flavour. Remove the tea bag, relax and enjoy! Serve it “clear” or sweeten with honey or sugar.

Tetley Iced Tea

Bring 4 cups of fresh water to a rolling boil. Gently pour water over 2 tea bags.

Steep 3 to 5 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavour. Stir before removing tea bags.

Add your favourite sweetener, if desired. Pour brewed tea into pitcher and add 4 more cups of cold water and/or ice cubes. Chill and enjoy!

Coldwater method

For clear, cloudless iced tea, fill a pitcher or container with cold tap water. Cover.

Let stand at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Add 4 to 6 tea bags (remove tags). After at least 6 hours (or overnight), remove tea bags, squeezing against side of container.

When ready to serve, pour into ice-filled glasses. Makes about a litre of tea.

Storing tips

Once removed from the box, tea bags are highly susceptible to odours and can become “stale.” To prevent this, immediately place “exposed” tea bags in an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place. It is not recommended to store tea in a refrigerator or freezer, as condensation may be created by taking the tea out of the cold unit and may affect the flavour of the blend.
