Vocational training in Germany

DHPS launches cooperation project with hospital
Whether in the nursing, therapeutic or medical-technical fields, the training offered by the Diakonissen-Stiftungs-Krankenhaus Speyer hospital is diverse and thus attractive to school leavers. This created much interest among the learners of the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS) during a visit and information sessions on nursing training in Germany, specifically in Speyer, earlier this year.
Jonas Sewing, Managing Director of the Diakonissen-Stiftungs-Krankenhaus Speyer, and Tanja Schaller, Principal of the Diakonissen Pflegeschule Speyer, visited the DHPS to present the nursing training and development opportunities at the hospital to the learners, as well as to arrange cooperation with the DHPS.
One of the DHPS learners seized the opportunity and signed a training contract.
“We were very impressed by the school’s diversity, the commitment of the teachers and the receptiveness of the learners to professional training in Germany. We are already looking forward to welcoming the new trainee to our school in Speyer,” Sewing said.
DHPS attaches great importance to study and career guidance and it is almost unique in Namibia in this respect: From grade 10 onwards, regular individual counselling sessions are held with the learners, during which the study and training opportunities in Germany and worldwide, but also personal interests and talents are explored together with the counselling teachers.
