Good food and fun

Tradition and Innovation – Local roots, global minds was the slogan for this year's ever-popular DHPS bazaar that took place in the capital last weekend. The event coincided with the school's 110-year anniversary.

Besides many traditional food stalls, like the well-known and tastefully decorated coffee garden with its wide variety of homemade cakes, visitors could also relish other culinary specialties like Tacos, Popcorn and the famous German “Kartoffelpuffer”. Stalls offering games for fun and special skills, like Sling Shooting, Bubble-Soccer, Bull riding, Dart Throwing, Tombola and Bowling, were thoroughly enjoyed by young and old alike.

To celebrate the jubilee, a special entertainment programme was designed to be enjoyed by the entire community. Parents, learners, Alumni and members of staff enjoyed live performances by Elemotho, Lize Ehlers and the Phoniker Orchestra while dancing the night away. The African Marketing Bubbly Bar offered a variety of sparkling wines to taste and the Hotel Thule Alumni Winebar hosted countless celebrating guests until late.

The DHPS 110 year anniversary bazaar was a great success thanks to incredible teamwork, meticulous preparations and the exceptional engagement by all parties involved.
