What advise do you have for youth aspiring to be in this position?
Sometimes, people see being a financial adviser as a profession for uneducated people. Some refer to us as “Äashangi yeepolicy”, meaning writers of policies. This is a professional industry like any other. The good thing that young people have at hand is technology and social media, which will make it easier for them to interact with clients.

What challenges have you experienced in this position?
Managing a client's expectations can be difficult, especially because I worked at a competitor company before I joined Sanlam. I want to assure all my old and new clients that I am here to serve them with passion. Customer service remains pivotal to me.

I have a large book of client business and a track record of performance and service. Getting clients and having them stick with me is great to see.

What are your hobbies?
I like spending time with my family and friends. On Sundays, I like to go to church.

What are some of the highlights of your career?
A. Researching markets to understand trends and meeting with clients to understand their financial situations.
