ADB’s Felipe visits NUST

20 September 2019 | Education

Earlier this week the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) in collaboration with the Bank of Namibia (BoN), hosted a public lecture titled If industrialisation has become a hard endeavour, what can today’s developing countries do to progress fast? The lecture was delivered by Dr Jesus Felipe (pictured), Advisor to the Chief Economist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Philippines. The public lecture was in build-up to the BoN’s Annual Symposium that took place on 19 September. Every year, since 1998, the BoN hosts a one-day symposium aimed at bringing together experts in the field of economics, to exchange views on various issues pertaining to the Namibian economy. The theme for this year’s symposium was Escaping the Middle-Income Trap: A Perspective from Namibia.
