AI Steenkamp celebrates golden jubilee

To celebrate their golden anniversary, children, teachers and alumni of the AI Steenkamp Primary School are going big in the next few weeks – all under the theme of Appreciating the Past, Celebrating the Present and Inspiring the Future.

The school was established in 1969 by Mr AI Steenkamp who was the mayor of Okahandja at one time, and who was known to be generous and for contributing towards the emancipation of education in Namibia.

The official opening took place on Friday, followed by a parade and fun day on Saturday. Today (Sunday 24 February), a service takes place at the AME church.

• Saturday 9 March: Fundraising braai and talent show

• Friday 15 March: Alumni night

• Saturday 16 March: Gala dinner

• Friday 29 March: Gospel show/raffle draw

• Saturday 31 March & 1 April: Sports weekend

• Friday 6 April: Daylight disco for learners

• Saturday 7 April: Family fun day

• Sunday 8 April: Service at the Lutheran church
