All volleyball roads lead to Tivoli

According to James Verrinder of the Timeout Beach Volleyball Academy and tournament director, the fifth Timeout Beach Series event of the year – the Clausthaler Kalahari Open hosted at Tivoli Southern Sky Guest Farm for the fifth time – sees top local volleyball athletes battling it out. Participants include some of the winners of the Timeout Series event in July, the Clausthaler Grand Prix; Men’s Champions Steve Kangandgera and Bernhard Schurz; and RFS Winter Classic Women’s Champions Rosi Hennes and Almut Hoffmann.
“In 2015, Kalahari dune sand was especially shipped to Tivoli to create three unique beach volleyball courts for this event,” Verrinder says. “It took the Schreiber family (Reinhold, Kirsten, Dennis and Damian) three months to prepare. This location was picked to complement the beach volleyball image: sun, sand and the great outdoors, which make this tournament one of the most unique in the world.”
Verrinder says they are very excited to welcome Clausthaler, supplied by African Marketing Namibia, as a new sponsor and supporter of beach volleyball in Namibia.
Next on the beach volleyball calendar is the Fabupharm Swakopmund Masters on 2 and 3 November at the Mole, and the Bank Windhoek Beach Bash Volleyball on 21 December at Langstrand.
Don’t miss the action on 14 and 15 September!
