Bederf ’n boervrou

Miljoene dollar is reeds ingesamel om boere regoor die land by te staan gedurende die droogte wat honderde moedeloos laat. En nou is dit tyd om die skoner geslag ook te ondersteun.
Die Boks vir ’n Namibiese Boervrou-inisiatief versprei soos ’n veldbran dop sosiale media, met die sameroepers wat Namibiërs aanmoedig om ’n boks vol bederf vir boervroue te pak.
Een boervrou in die land skryf op die blad dat hulle deur ’n moeilike tyd gaan. “Nie net is persoonlike items soos jou gunsteling gesigroom, haarprodukte en lyfroom lankal nie meer op die inkopielys nie, maar ons lekkerste bestanddele om mee te kook, ook nie. Ek draai die botteltjie Ina Paarman Garlic and Herb spice twee keer om op die winkelrak en los dit dan maar. Ons boere se vroue is uitstekende kosmakers, brouers en bakkers. As jy kyk waarmee hulle aankom by NVV funksies, kerk- en boerevereniging geleenthede, weet jy dat hulle programme soos Master Chef gereeld kyk,” skryf sy.
Nog een skryf: “Maak jou oë toe. Dink jou in, jy is ’n Namibiese boervrou. Jy staan in die kombuis en kyk uit oor die plaaswerf. Daar waar eens trekkers en implemente gestaan het, is nou leeg. Alles is verkoop. Soek ietsie groen, net ’n kolletjie. Maar sien niks. Twee van die enorme ou bloekombome is dood. In die verte sien ek die rivierloop en die lande vir lusern... droog en vaal. Die rivier het 5 jaar laas geloop.”
Hierdie vroue bly op hul knieë, al weet hulle lankal nie meer hoe om te bid nie. En elke dag staan hulle op, vol hoop, vol ywer dat die wolke dalk vandag sal toetrek.
Die span agter die inisiatief hoop om 1 000 bokse te ontvang.
