Cleaner streets please

Windhoek used to be known as one of the cleanest cities in the world, but that does not seem to be the case anymore.

People are littering everywhere; it seems as if they forget where garbage goes. Is it really that hard to carry a can or a piece of paper to the nearest dustbin? This really is not acceptable. We need to keep the city clean not just for tourists, but also for our own residents.

City of Windhoek should really start fining people who litter in the streets. A few weeks ago I was driving behind a vehicle and suddenly he threw a beer bottle out of the window. These people are not just littering, but they are also putting other people in danger. What if the bottle hit my car or what if the broken glass will cut a child?

It really needs to be taken care of. I have already tried to clean up my street, but after a few days it is full of garbage again. Not only that, but the gravel that washed onto the road after the rain is also causing problems.

It has not rained in my area for nearly two weeks, but the road is still covered in gravel. Every time I brake, the car slides on the gravel. Please City of Windhoek come up with something to help residents with these issues.
