Met talle behoeftige kinders wat uit arm gemeenskappe kom, het die personeel by Dagbreek skool besef dat van hulle skoliere nie eens genoeg kos het om te eet nie.
Daarom het hulle ’n spyskaart uitgewerk wat lank hou en wat voedsaam vir kinders is. “Ons het baie behoeftige kinders wat uit arm gemeenskappe kom. Van die kinders se ouers het hul werk verloor as gevolg van Covid-19 en kan nie basiese benodighede soos kos voorsien aan hulle kinders nie,” het ’n brief van die skool gelees.
Die kinders kry veral swaar in hierdie tyd. “Daarom vra ons dat dié wat kan, hul harte sal oopmaak en ons help om ons kinders ’n ete te kan gee.”
Die produkte wat benodig word is sop, soja maalvleis, rys, blikkieskos, mieliemeel, suiker, olie, pasta en langlewe melk. Hulle is ook opsoek na waslappe vir elke kind om hande af te droog sodat die verspreiding van Covid 19 bekamp kan word.
