Dancing their way to N$30 000!

According to organiser Issy Nakamwe, they visited all the regions during the year to find the best of
the best. “Now we are at the finals, with prize money of N$30 000 up for grabs,” he said with much
excitement.
On Saturday, Soweto’s Finest, from South Africa and locals O.K.Kz battle it out on stage, while Kalux, Sally Boss Madam
and King Elegent join in the fun to keep the crowd entertained.
The aim behind the initiative is to show the youth that you can make a career out of dancing. Teams
also mix up different dance genres. Kongoma Africa is a youth movement with an initiative to scouts
for the very best energetic, versatile and diverse dance groups, with a greater aim to unite Africa and
the rest of the world through dance.
“This event has grown tremendously,” he said. “Starting in 2016, we only had 4 000 page likes and
we now stand on 56 000. That’s a lot of young people who enjoy dancing. And this is what it’s all
about: Dance.”
The gates open at 15:00 and tickets cost N$30 via Computicket, N$40 at the door or N$150 for VIP
tickets.
