Firing up the CoTA

Two brand new kilns valued at N$135 000 were donated at the College of the Arts recently, thanks to the FirstRand Namibia Foundation Trust. According to the college's head of visual and fashion design, Nicky Marais, “The kilns are an incredible and valuable asset to the college and will be utilised for many years to come”. The college teaches ceramics at two different locations in the capital: At the Theatre School campus where a studio provides a creative outlet for both working people and school children; and at the Katutura Community Art Centre, that offers accredited three-year full-time diploma courses. Pictured at the handing over are (FLTR) Jane Katjavivi (FirstRand Namibia Foundation), Revonia Kahivere (FirstRand Namibia Foundation), and Nicky Marais (COTA).
