Gemeenskap moet meer betrokke raak

Die Namibiese polisiediens het 'n inisiatief begin om misdaad te bekamp deur alle gemeenskapstrukture betrokke te maak, het Nampol se woordvoerder, adj.komm. Edwin Kanguatjivi, gesê.

Hy het gesê die polisiediens het verskeie strategië van stapel gestuur om misdaad te verhoed, maar dat dit slegs doeltreffend sal wees as die gemeenskap saamwerk.

Hy het dus 'n beroep op gemeen-skapslede gedoen om aan te sluit by inisiatiewe soos buurtwagte, jeug teen misdaad en die Men & Women Against Crime-organisasie.

Hierdie organisasies geniet op ver-skeie vlakke sukses, aldus Kanguatjivi.

“Hierdie pogings word aangewend om polisiëring nie alleen by die polisiediens rus nie. Almal het 'n rol om te speel in die veiligheid en sekuriteit van alle Namibiërs.”

Gemeenskapspolisiëring is 'n inisiatief wat begin is om misdaad te verhoed en te voorkom.

Dit is daarop gemik om proaktief te wees in die bou van vennootskappe met belanghebbendes in spesifieke gemeenskappe.
