Groot vreugde by Huis Maerua

SA grapjas Soli Philander maak kinderharte in die hoofstad bly.

Lloyd Zandberg - Huis Maerua het einde November 'n glans-geldinsamelingsgeleentheid by die Lemon Tree-restaurant gehou.

“Daar was nie een dull moment nie!” het Liana Etsebeth, 'n administratiewe assistent by Huis Maerua, oor dié spesiale aand, wat die bekende kunstenaar Soli Philander ook bygewoon het, gesê.

“Ek en Soli het lekker gesweet op die verhoog, maar ek is seker daarvan dit het Soli net meer energie gegee. Die vier dae wat ek saam met hom kon spandeer, het ek soveel van hom as mens geleer. Om saam met hom op die lug te kon wees by Kanaal 7, Kosmos 94.1 en 99FM, wat ons sommer vir 'n tweede keer laat teruggaan het op aanvraag, was voorwaar 'n ondervinding wat my die res van my lewe sal bybly,” het Liana gesê.



Kerspartytjie

Huis Maerua het ook toe vir inwoners 'n Kerspartytjie gehou. Soli se taak was om geskenke uit te deel. Die kinders het sy teenwoordigheid geweldig geniet, en die geleentheid is beslis 'n hoogtepunt vir 2018.

“Vanjaar het die kinders die geleentheid gehad om 'n wenslysie vir Kersfees op te stel.”

Liana het vertel sy en Soli moes die trane oor die blydskap op die kinders se gesigte wegpink. “Soli se liefde vir kinders is diep. Hy het werklik 'n klein hartjie met baie plek vir kinders!” het Liana gesê.

Tydens die verrigtinge het die kinders 'n teddiebeer aan Soli oorhandig. “Ek dink hy was amper meer opgewonde oor die teddie as die kinders oor húlle geskenke! Die teddie is ook sommer dadelik 'Rua' gedoop.”

Soli self was beïndruk met Namibiërs.

“Die geleentheid was baie goed georganiseer. Dit was 'n fantastiese ervaring. Die manier waarop die Namibiese gemeenskap minderbevoorregte kinders ondersteun, het my verras. Ek het bewondering vir Namibiërs en die media hier,” het hy gesê.

“Ons borge is te veel om te noem, maar weet net dit was deel van 'n groot sukses. Sowat N$36 000 is vir die kinders se 2019-skooljaar ingesamel en ons is dankbaar hiervoor.”
