Heerlike belewenis by die vismark

As seekos jou ding is, is daar 'n nuwe restaurant in die hoofstad waarvoor jy beslis jou kiestande sal opoffer.

Yolanda Nel - Ek sien die restaurant se naam en loop die 20 trappe af, maar word vinnig voorgekeer om te weet waarheen ek op pad is.

Ek beduie ek soek na die Cape Town Fish Market, maar verduidelik die man, ek moet omloop. Dit is warm en ek is geïrriteerd.

Maar daar aangekom, lig my bui onmiddellik terwyl die vriendelike personeel my verduidelik waar ek moet wees.

Ons is genooi vir Bank Windhoek se media-afsluiting en dus is daar 'n buffet. Ek het nog nie eers behoorlik gesit nie, toe word drankies bestel. Weens die somerhitte, besluit ek op bessiesap wat binne minute bedien is.

Ná 'n kort verwelkoming deur ons gasheer, word borde en borde vars soesji voor ons neergesit en ons kan kies presies wat ons wil eet. Daarna kom die vars oesters, tempura garnale en heerlike chilli poppers. Vir diegene wat nie susjie verkies nie, was daar 'n vegetariese opsie, asook ribbetjies en hoenderrepies vir ons voorgesit. Ons het geëet dat die sojasous spat.

In my binneste lag ek omdat ons joernaliste nie gewoond is om met stokkies te eet nie.

Die manne en vroue in die kombuis het hulle goed van hul taak gekwyt en hoewel die restaurant propvol ander gaste was, het dit nie gelyk of mense lank vir hulle kos wag nie.

Vir nagereg was daar weer 'n verskeidenheid: veerligte kaaskoek, sjokoladekoek en malvapoeding. As daar nie so baie mense om my was nie, het ek beslis die bord skoongelek.

Ek is bly ek het myself vir die geleentheid uitgehonger. Dit was beslis uit te boeke.
