Help give Gifts 4 Kidz

12 November 2018 | Society

Once again Hugs 4 Christ (H4C) is launching their Christmas shoebox and party project, Gifts 4 Kidz, with the aim of giving the orphans of the Megameno Home a day to relax, have fun and to experience the joys of Christmas.

The party will take place on 10 December at the home. “We are now calling on all residents of Windhoek to make our outreach a success,” said H4C's Barry de Klerk.

He said that a list of the children's names and what each one needs, has been compiled. “The children's ages range from 2 to 20.”

Apart from donations he said they also need volunteers to help with arrangements, at the party itself and to clean up afterwards. “During the course of the event, H4C will entertain the children with various activities,” he said. This includes singing Christmas carols, a photo shoot, face painting, lunch and a jumping castle. Thereafter by a Bible reading and the handing over of the gifts will follow.

“We hope to get as many people as possible involved in this project. Last year we saw the joy it brought to these children,” Barry said.

Donations for the shoeboxes can include an item of clothing, toiletries, a toy, stationery and something sweet. H4C also needs donations to host the party and for something to eat.

For more information, to make a donation or for the list of names, send an email to [email protected] or call Madré Claassen on 081 611 3703 or Deorine Maasdorp on 081 776 6320. Visit the Hugs 4 Christ Facebook page for the latest information.
