HKIA drop off lane closed for now

The Namibian Airports Company (NAC) made this announcement earlier this week, saying that this lane is only intended for the quick pick-up and drop-off of passengers.
“All drivers are advised to use the public short-term parking as a drop-off zone. The first five minutes are free, but thereafter those who stay longer will have to pay for using the parking lot,” the NAC said.
Due to construction work, all visitors are urged to drive carefully and adhere to the signs and road markings at the airport.
Furthermore, the NAC urged passengers to arrive early for their flights to avoid inconvenience.
Because the airport already reached capacity many years ago, a modernization drive of the site valued at around N$250 million began mid-September.
The state is bankrolling around two-thirds of the investment, while the NAC will contribute the remaining N$95 million. Enlargements are slated for the departure and arrival halls and five self-check-in machines are to be installed.
