Huis Maerua maak hart (en hand) oop

Yolanda Nel ’n Hand wat gee, is ook ’n hand wat kan ontvang.
So sê Erna von Dewitz van Huis Maerua ná hulle onlangs ’n skenking aan die Caring Hearts-organisasie oorhanding het. “Ons het vir hulle babaklere en doeke gegee.”
Die feit dat Huis Maerua self ’n liefdadigheidsorganisasie is, beteken nie hulle wil altyd net ontvang nie. “Huis Maerua se hand staan oop vir enigiemand wat ’n behoefte het, óf dit ’n gesin is wie se huis afgebrand het, óf iemand wat finansieel swaar trek. Ons glo daaraan dat ’n oop hand [wat gee] ook kan ontvang,” het sy gesê.
Dit is nie die eerste keer wat die kinderhuis uitdeel nie. Hulle gee gereeld skenkings aan ander organisasies, insluitend Helpende Hande, Hope Village, Witkop, Cafu, Family of Hope en Heal the Land. “Kinders is mos maar ons ‘ding’, so dis bykans vanselfsprekend dat Huis Maerua organisasies met kinders, en veral babas, gaan ondersteun.”
