Inwoners soek by mekaar insae

Yolanda Nel Die Facebookblad, Okahandja Today, het besluit om inwoners te nader oor die uitdagings wat in die dorp ondervind word.
Volgens die inskrywing vroeër in Januarie, sal al die punte aan die munisipaliteit en aan rolspelers oorhandig word sodat aksie geneem kan word.
Belangrike punte wat deur die inwoners aangevoer is, sluit in dat paaie in die dorp steeds ’n probleem is. “In die Smarties (nedersetting) het ons net selfgemaakte paaie en ons soek nie noodwendig geteerde paaie nie, net behoorlike strate,” het een geskryf. Slaggate is ook steeds ’n groot probleem wat aandag moet geniet.
“Maak eerste die dorp skoon. Dit is afgryslik om Okahandja in te ry en te sien hoe vuil dit is. Dit skep die indruk dat die mense van Okahandja te lui is om hul oor die omgewing te bekommer,” skryf nog ’n inwoner.
Ander voel dat daar ’n jeugsentrum opgerig moet word om te verseker kinders word met aktiwiteite besig gehou. “Dit hou hulle ook van die straat af,” het een gesê. Ander het daarop bygevoeg dat werkloosheid te hoog is en dat daar teveel sjebeens in die gebied is.
Ander probleme sluit in vullisverwydering wat nie op tyd plaasvind nie en dat diegene in die informele nedersettings nie toegang tot water en elektrisiteit het nie. Daar is nog nie besluit wanneer die lys aan die munisipaliteit oorhandig gaan word nie.
