Joint screening reaps rewards

10 October 2019 | Environment

The Namibian Scientific Society (NSS) and the Namibia Environment and Wildlife Society (NEWS) along with the DHPS Alumni Association recently hosted a screening of the Namibian movie Baxu and the Giants, and in this way managed to raise N$11 000 for the Save the Rhino Fund (SRT). A large audience turned up for the screening of the short film about rhino poaching as seen through the eyes of 9-year-old Baxu. The young actress Camilla Jo-ann Daries who portrays the character of the title role, stood in the spotlight at the screening alongside director and co-writer Florian Schott, co-writer and co-producer Girley Jazama and producer Andrew Botelle.
