Journey to Antarctica with Kai

Next Wednesday (23 January) at 19:30, Kai Kleingünther hosts a presentation titled Cruising Antarctica at the Scientific Society.

A journey of 2,741 nautical miles from Tierra del Fuego and Ushuaia, also called the end of the world “Fin del Mundo”, to the Falklands and the Shetland Islands with weather permitting “wet” landings, whales, penguins, seals, ice bergs and glaciers, research stations and remnants of whalers and shipwrecks, the stormy waters of the Drake passage, Beagle Channel... too many to mention.



PROTECTED

People so often dream of travelling to special places like Antarctica. Kai Kleingünther, who has a passion for the environment and environmental matters, got the opportunity just recently. Let him tell you about places like Deception Island and Neptune's Bellows, various penguins from Chinstraps to Gentoos, Rockhoppers and Macaroni Penguins, a variety of whales and seals and icebergs in all shapes and sizes floating by. Follow him on the tracks of daring explorers and find out more about the best protected continent on this globe.
