‘Amazing’ inisiatief deur Amazing Designs

In ’n dorpie soos Walvisbaai, is dit belangrik vir alle ondernemings om saam te staan, want

Die broer en suster het met ’n inisiatief vorendag gekom om met die hulp van sosiale media
te verduidelik hoe die inperking hul besigheid beïnvloed. Op ’n Facebook-inskrywing het
hulle geskryf dat die inperking op hulle besigheid, ’n impak op agt huishoudings het wat 23
monde voer en dat hulle nie ’n verlengde inperking kan bekostig of sal oorleef nie. 
Hulle het twee ander besighede uitgedaag om dieselfde te doen.
“Die idee is om saam as sakesektor in die Erongostreek ons stem virtueel dik te maak om
ons regering te vra om ons nie verder onder inperking te plaas nie, maar om die ekonomie
stadigaan oop te maak. Ons het twee ander besighede uitgedaag om ook hul stem by ons
pleidooi te voeg waarna hulle ook elkeen twee besighede moet uitdaag,” het Nicolette
verduidelik.
Die idee het gekom na die eerste inperking vir Amazing Designs 33 werksdae gekos het. “Dit
beteken ’n volle maand sonder inkomste; ’n maand waarin ons steeds belasting moet
betaal; waar daar van ons verwag is om ons personeel ten volle te betaal, wat ons nie kon
nie, en nog steeds ons oorhoofse kostes moes dek,” het sy gesê.
Noodsaaklike diens
Met die tweede inperking kon hulle daarin slaag om om as ’n noodsaaklike diensverskaffer
te registreer omdat hulle maskers begin maak het. “Maar omdat ons ’n maand se
agterstand gehad het, moet ons eers inhaal wat ons verloor het. Die probleem is dat van ons
kliënte in presies dieselfde situasie is en kostebesnyding bly ’n realiteit wat ongetwyfeld 'n
sneeubal-effek het. Ons werk regtig hard en het ongelooflik baie opgeoffer om te wees waar
ons is. Ons is wetsgehoorsaam en doen wat van ons verwag word. Verder het ons ’n
ongelooflike groot verantwoordelikheid teenoor die mense wat vir ons werk, want sonder
hulle kan ons nie 100% funksioneer nie. Ons baklei vir hulle onthalwe ook.”
Hulle boodskap aan die regering is dat die wêreld buite groter is as wat die regering dink.
“Ons is klein elemente wat deel is van ’n groter prentjie. Ons is boorlinge van Namibië en
alles wat ons doen en waarvoor ons werk is om ons land ’n beter plek te maak. Help ons
asseblief om saam julle ideale vir ons land te bereik.”
En aan die plaaslike mark sê hulle, “ondersteun plaaslik. Hoe meer ons mekaar bystaan en
ondersteun, hoe beter sal dit met ons gaan. Kom ons help mekaar.”
