“As ek musiek speel, laat dit my altyd goed voel. Dit is n voorreg om ’n instrument te kan optel en nog ’n groter voorreg as iemand wil hoor wat jy speel,” sê die Suid-Afrikaanse sanger Elvis Blue.
Hy meen dat dit beide opwindend en vreesaanjaend is om weer die geleentheid te kry om saam met sy vriende musiek te maak ná hy vir maande weens Covid-19-grendelreëls tuis moes bly het.
“Ek het tydens die opname van hierdie vertoning gevoel soos Boris, die maltese poedel uit my kinderdae, wat soms ontsnap het uit ons tuin en dan karre in die pad af gejaag het – dit was lekker en vry! Ek hoop mense geniet die musiek!”
Hierdie geliefde Afrikaanse musiekster speel saam met Thinus Odendaal (tromme) en Mathys Maree (klavier) in hierdie lekker-luister aanlyn konsert. Mense kan verwag om van Elvis se grootste treffers te hoor, asook ’n paar van sy gunsteling ‘covers’.
Met drie platinum- en twee goue albums, en ’n lang lys top 10-treffers bly Elvis een van die hardwerkendste kunstenaars in Suid-Afrika, met sy passie om sy musiek by ieder en elk uit te bring ’n sterk dryfveer. Sy gewildheid is ook toe te skryf aan sy vermoë om aanklank te vind by oud en jong, Engels en Afrikaans, en om kwaliteit musiek te kan maak.
