Ma dankbaar ná lughawe drama

Yolanda Nel - Een ma is dankbaar dat haar seun weer by die huis is ná hy een van sowat 150 Namibiërs is wat gister van Johannesburg geland het.
Die groep Namibiërs was vir minstens vyf ure binne die lughawe gebou aangehou omdat niemand van die vlug bewus was nie.
“Hy sal beslis in isolasie wees vir die voorgeskrewe tyd,” het die ma gesê. Sy het nie ’n probleem met kwarantyn nie; haar grootste vrees was dat hulle na ’n fasiliteit gestuur sou word soos Greiters.
Windhoek Express het vroeër die week oor die stand van sake by dié isolasie eenheid berig, onder andere dat die wasbakke en toilette uit die muur geruk is en daar nie matrasse is nie. “Die hele hantering daarvan en met die feit dat al die mense in ’n ontvangssaal gehou word, is die kanse goed dat hulle daar die siekte kon optel,” het sy gesê.
Die ma se stryd te midde van hierdie situasie was ongelukkig nie net gister op die lughawe nie. Haar oudste seun is tans besig met sy Meestergraad by Stellenbosch Universiteit en was hy as ’n uitruilstudent na Colorado in die VSA gestuur. “Hy sou daar bly tot die einde van die maand, maar toe sit hierdie mamma haar voet neer dat hy moet huis toe kom,” vertel sy.
Hy is tans in self-kwarentyn in Stellenbosch en vriende bring vir hom kos. “Die kommer oor hom en wat dan gister met my jonger seun gebeur het, mergel mens uit.”
