Maak klein harte bly

Met Kerstyd, dink almal aan geskenke onder 'n Kersboom en hoeveel beplanning dit verg om vir elke spesiale persoon daardie spesiale geskenk te kry.

Tog is die prentjie mooi gedagte van Kersfees ongelukkig nie vir almal beskore nie. “Gee vanjaar 'n stukkie van jou hart aan 'n behoeftige kind,” sê Erna von Dewitz van Huis Maerua kinderhuis.

“Elke kind sien tog uit na 'n geskenkie, veral hierdie tyd van die jaar,” sê sy.

Om daardie rede gaan die kinderhuis vanjaar weer voort met hul Skoenboks-projek.

“Omgee is in die klein dingetjies,” sê Erna. Elkeen wat graag wil betrokke raak, hoef net 'n skoenboks vol lekkernye af te lewer.

Daar kan enigiets in die skoenboks gesit word – van skryfbehoeftes, tandeborsels en tandepaste en lyfroom, tot 'n speelding, lekkers en iets om aan te trek. Die geskenke moet geskik wees vir seuns of meisies tussen die ouderdom van 7 en 17 jaar.

“Hierdie projek maak soveel kinderharte bly. Hulle is elke jaar só opgewonde en só dankbaar,” sê Erna. “Baie van hulle het nie ouers nie en die skoenboks is ons manier om vreugde in 'n kinderhart te sit wat andersins nie moontlik is nie.”

Skoenkbokse kan tot en met 30 November by Huis Maerua afgelewer word. Vir meer inligting, skakel Erna by 061 383 250.
