Mass land servicing in Omaheke

The Omaheke Regional Council continues working on the provision of serviced land in a bid to curb the growing demand of housing in the region, said Governor Festus Ueitele in his recent state of the region address.
The council has thus far surveyed about 500 plots in various settlements and villages across the region for servicing. Such development will also ensure better access to potable water, improved sanitation facilities, electricity and road infrastructure.
Construction of housing units is currently underway in various areas of the region such as Witvlei, Buitepos, and Epukiro Post Three. Similar projects are also foreseen for the recently proclaimed Drimiopsis settlement and Tsjaka that will see the servicing of 295 plots.
The regional council has thus far serviced 218 erven in Witvlei, 98 in Buitepos and 137 plots in Epukiro Post Three. (NAMPA)
