Mrs J maak ’n Windhoekse draai

Gospel Care Ministry hou in Augustus ’n galadinee met die bekende Theresa Sedras (Mrs J van Suidooster-faam) as gasspreker.

Volgens senior pastoor en stigter van Gospel Care Ministry, Danny Saal, word dié geleentheid gehou om geld in te samel ten einde voort te gaan met hulle uitreikaksies.

Hy sê Gospel Care Ministry is in 2012 gestig met ’n duidelike opdrag van God gebaseer op Markus 6:37 “Gee julle vir hulle iets om te eet.” Vir die afgelope sewe jaar leef hulle hierdie visie uit na plekke regoor Namibië om die woord te verkondig en emmers met droë kos uit te deel aan behoeftiges. “Met bystand van Bo en enkele donateurs kon ons voorsien aan die behoeftes van ongeveer 4 200 individue deur emmers kos uit te deel,” sê hy.

Maar, ten einde met hierdie inisiatief voort te gaan, het hulle geld nodig. Dus die galadinee.

“Hierdie aand beloof om ’n glansryke geleentheid te wees met Theresa wat haar passie vir behoeftiges met ons kom deel onder die tema ‘Loving thy neighbour’,” sê Saal.

Gasspreker

Theresa speel die nimlike karakter Mrs J in Suidooster. “Dit het my meer as drie dekades geneem om my droom uit te leef om ’n akteur te wees en nou, op die ouderdom van 65, begin die lewe eers opwindend raak,” sê sy. Sy voeg by dat sy nog altyd ’n rol op die kleinkassie wou speel wat haar uitdaag, opgewonde maak en as mens laat groei.

Voor die karakter van Mrs J oor haar pad gekom het, het Sedras vrede daarmee gemaak dat sy dalk nooit in ’n groot sepie sou speel nie, maar dat dit juis op hierdie stadium van haar lewe gebeur het, is vir haar spesiaal. “Dit het my laat besef dat daar wel ’n behoefte is aan akteurs van my ouderdom en dat ek nog ’n lang en interessante loopbaan kan hê,” sê sy.

Dit het haar ook gewys dat jy nooit moet ophou glo in jou drome nie.

Terwyl sy nie seker is wat die toekoms inhou nie, is sy bly sy kan elke dag haar passie uitleef en mense daardeur raak. “Ek is vreeslik opgewonde oor my voorgenome besoek aan Namibië omdat dit so in lyn is met my passie vir my medemens,” sê sy.

Kaartjies vir die galadinee kos N$300 per person en is by El-Gibbor Unisex haarsalon (Maerua Mall) en by Beukes Spar in Khomasdal beskikbaar. Dit vind op 31 Augustus by die WHS-saal plaas.
