Die Windhoek munisipaliteit sê sy bateregister is voltooi ten spyte van kommer wat deur die kantoor van die ouditeur-generaal (OG) geopper is dat die munisipaliteit nie sy batebestuursbeleid met betrekking tot die klassifikasie van sy eiendomme implementeer nie.
Waarnemende uitvoerende hoof Jennifer Comalie het gesê die munisipaliteit is nou op hoogte van sy bates.
“Ons het ’n volledige vastebateregister in plek. Ons weet waar ons bates is,” het sy beweer.
Volgens haar was die munisipaliteit ook op koers om sy finansiële state aan die OG voor te lê. “Ons is bly ons kan sê die Stad se ouditverslae is volledig. Ons is besig met die 2021 finansiële jaar; ons maak gereed om dit by die OG in te dien,” het Comalie gesê.

In ’n verslag het die OG gesê dat die Stad se ouditbewyse wat ingedien is, ’n onvoldoende en onvanpaste basis is om’n mening te vorm.
“Daar is geen bewyse dat die munisipaliteit die batebestuursbeleid implementeer het met betrekking tot die klassifikasie van eiendomme wat vir verkoop gehou word in die gewone loop van bedrywighede of in die proses van konstruksie of ontwikkeling vir so 'n verkoop as voorraad nie,” het die OG gesê.
Dit het ook teenstrydighede met betrekking tot die Stad se eiendom en toerusting bevraagteken. “Eiendom en toerusting word met N$32 miljoen oorskat weens verskille in eiendomsgroottes en waardasies tussen die vastebateregister en E-beplanner,” het die OG gesê.
Die OG het voorts sy misnoë uitgespreek oor die rekeningkunde wat gebruik word om verantwoording te doen vir die inkomste wat uit publiek-private vennootskapsooreenkomste bygedra is. “Die bestuur het ’n las geskep in plaas daarvan om inkomste aan te teken,” het die OG gesê.
