Napso-atlete in Windhoek byeen

Komende Vrydag en Saterdag ding jong atlete van privaatskole van regoor die land op die veld en op die baan mee vir hul kans om met die louere weg te stap.

Volgens die skakelbeampte van die Windhoek Afrikaanse Privaatskool (WAP), Ariska van Vuuren, neem 18 skole deel. Dié skool is vanjaar verantwoordelik om die Napso Privaatskole-atletiekbyeenkoms aan te bied.

Die byeenkoms vind by Onafhanklikheidstadion in die hoofstad plaas. “Die geleentheid bied aan atlete van Napso-skole in ons land, in die stad en op die platteland, blootstelling om kompeterend te kan deelneem en hulle potensiaal op hierdie wyse te ontwikkel,” aldus Van Vuuren.

Volgens haar is daar min geleenthede waar mense vanuit die uithoeke van die land só lekker kan kuier, eet, lag en ondersteun. “Aan die begin van die Napso Privaatskolenaweek groet ou vriende van verlede jaar mekaar en aan die einde van die byeenkoms gaan almal met soveel heerlike herinneringe huis toe.”

Volgens Van Vuuren, spog WAP met 219 leerlinge wat deelneem, terwyl Laerskool Walvisbaai 61 atlete het, Tsumeb 66 en die Privaatskool Swakopmund 18 atlete ingeskryf het. Ander deelnemende skole sluit in Pro-Ed met 100 atlete, Moria met 47, Privaatskool Keetmanshoop met 31 en die Internasionale Skool Walvisbaai met 38. Die Primêre Skool Goedehoop, Elnatan, Edugate, Dolphins, Gobabis, Berg-Op, Axis, Aussenkehr, Agri College en die Privaatskool Walvisbaai neem ook aan die opwindende geleentheid deel.
