Nuwe droom op die planke

Een Windhoekse entrepreneur het besluit vanjaar is die jaar wat sy haar droom van die afgelope vyf
jaar verwesenlik en só is die Dramaklub gebore.
Michelle Gibson sê dat hierdie eintlik ’n groot droom vir ’n plattelandse meisie is. Sy voeg by dat sy
haar drome in die hande van die Here geplaas het en geduldig gewag tot Hy besluit het dit is die
regte tyd.
“Verlede jaar het ek die Here duidelik hoor praat en gesê dit is nou die regte tyd. So, hierdie is
absoluut ’n projek wat deur God se hand gestuur word.”
Michelle gee al vir meer as twee jaar dramaklasse en die impak wat dit op die kinders se lewens
gehad het en hoe hulle gegroei het, is fenomenaal. “Drama is meer as teater of net toneelspel,” sê
sy. “Dit is ontwerp om kinders se spraak en selfbeeld te verbeter, en vir hulle selfvertroue te gee.
Drama is ook baie terapeuties.”
Boonop, sê sy, gee drama kinders die kans om ook nuwe maats te maak wat dieselfde
belangstellings deel en dit leer hulle sosiale vaardighede wat belangrik is in vandag se lewe. “Elke
kind se persoonlikheid verskil en dit leer hulle om met almal te werk en oor die weg te kom.”
Die Dramaklub is ’n 11-maande projek waar kinders elke maand ’n nuwe module behandel. “Dit help
ook om die regte lewensvaardighede te leer en te behou,” verduidelik Michelle.
Aan die einde van elke kwartaal word daar ’n slypskool deur ’n bekende in die bedryf aangebied wat
die studente verdere opleiding gee oor die modules wat reeds gedek is.
“Aan die einde van die jaar word daar konsert gehou oor wat die kinders deur die jaar geleer het
met die hulp van die bekendes wat deur die jaar deel was van die projek. Hierdie is ’n goeie projek
vir ons Namibiese kinders om raak gesien te word en blootstelling te kry.”
Michelle en die bekendes werk hand-aan-hand om hierdie projek ’n groot sukses te maak en ander
bewus te maak van drama en wat dit alles behels. “Ons land het ongelooflik baie talent; hulle het
eenvoudig net nie altyd die regte platform vir blootstelling nie. Hierdie projek gaan dit doen.”
Die klub is geskik vir kinders vanaf 7 en vir enige kind wat opsoek is na ’n lekker buitemuurse
aktiwiteit.
