Die ekonomie druk en almal klou vas aan hul laaste sente, maar met ’n oop hart en beursie en ’n bietjie
geluk, kan jy dalk voor die einde van hierdie jaar met ’n splinternuwe ryding wegtrek.
Huis Maerua se gelukstrekking fondsinsamelingsprojek is in volle gang en met net 100 boekies
beskikbaar, kan jy dalk die gelukkige wenner wees van een van drie ongelooflike pryse. Die wenner van
hierdie kompetisie stap weg met ’n dubbelkajuit Toyota Hilux; die tweede prys is N$50 000 kontant wat
nie te versmaai is nie; en die derde prys is ’n naweek vir twee by ’n Gondwana lodge.
Volgens Liana Etsebet van die welsynorganisasie, was daar talle uitdagings wat hulle vanjaar in die gesig
gestaar het en meeste van hul insamelingsprojekte moes gekanselleer word. “Maar ons is opgewonde
oor hierdie projek en hoop sommer Namibiërs gaan toustaan om kaartjies te koop,” sê sy.
Sy erken die projek is nodig om die kinderhuis se deure oop te hou. “Ons is dankbaar vir enige en elke
donasie wat inkom en saam kan ons mooi na hierdie kinders omsien, maar ons finansies is ’n probleem,”
erken sy.
Volgens Liana is daar genoeg klere- en kosskenkings, maar dit is die groeiende munisipale rekening en
die geringe bydrae van die regering wat die boeke eenvoudig nie laat klop nie. Met 22 kinders, ses
huisouers en ’n kantoor wat daagliks gebruik word, klim die munisipale rekening tot N$30 000 ’n maand.
“En die klein bietjie hulp van die staat het eintlik geen impak op ons begroting nie,” sê sy.
Indien jy of jou besigheid by die kinderhuis wil betrokke raak, koop vandag sommer ’n kaartjie. Dit kos
N$1 000 elk. Die sluitingsdatum is 30 Oktober en die trekking vind op 25 November plaas. Vir meer
