Oogkundiges ploeg in gemeenskap terug

’n Groep oogkundiges bied Donderdag hul dienste aan by die Windhoek sentrale hospitaal se 5de vloer. “In sulke moeilike tye, voel almal die knyp. En as besighede die knyp voel, hoe nie te meer die man op straat nie,” sê Sunette Chapman van Rita Frank Oogkundiges. “Dan is dit belangrik om terug te ploeg in die gemeenskap en te help waar jy kan.”

Die span is reeds slaggereed om volgende week die uitdaging aan te pak, en sê Sunette hierdie idee kom van die Here. “As jy iets doen wanneer Hy op jou knoppie druk, dan val alles maklik in plek,” sê sy. Daarmee saam is hulle dankbaar vir hoeveel donasies hulle reeds ontvang het.

Ook Michelle Beeker van Luca Optics op Okahandja sê hulle is opgewonde oor die geleentheid. “Ons beoog om Donderdag 500 mense te help met ’n oogtoets en ’n bril vir diegene wat dit benodig,” sê sy. “Alle persone oud en jonk, wat nie ’n mediese fonds het nie en wat probleme met hul sig ervaar, kan van die geleentheid gebruik maak,” sê sy.

Die Lions is ook deel van die geleentheid en staan reeds reg. Die kostes vir ’n oogtoets beloop N$20 en as dit nodig is, kos ’n bril N$30. Die toetse vind reeds vanaf 07:00 by die hospitaal plaas..
