Pageant winner supports schools

Winter is always a time for reflection and appreciating what you have, and this year is no different!

During 2018, the first runner up of Miss Teen Namibia 2018, Clarisse Muller, teamed up with The Grove Mall of Namibia and hosted a gift wrapping station at the mall in December. The funds raised totalled around N$15 000, with Môreson Special School and Pionierspark Primary School identified as beneficiaries of the project.

Because Clarisse attended Pionierspark Primary School, the school is dear to her. At the school, Elaine de Klerk feeds about 45 children every day, and for most it is the only meal they have.

Môreson caters for 150 intellectually and physically impaired learners from all over Namibia.

Thanks to additional support from Checkers Namibia and Taurus, groceries, toiletries and cleaning material to the value of N$11 000 were sponsored to each school.

“Visiting these schools is a truly humbling experience, and makes you appreciate the small things in life that one takes for granted,” Clarisse said at the handover.
