The Bank Windhoek National Outdoor Hockey League’s second round fixtures in both the men and women divisions took place at WHS and Windhoek Gymnasium hockey turfs last week, with Saints still at the top in both divisions.

Men’s Premier League
On Friday, Unam faced Windhoek Old Boys Sports Club (WOBSC). The match ended in a deadlock at halftime, but more action followed in the second half, with Unam winning the match 3:1.
On Saturday, newcomers X-Team from Walvis Bay clashed with Wanderers at WHS. Full of passion, X-Team started the encounter on a high note, however the game shifted in the second quarter and Wanderers took control, winning the game by 7:2.
In their second match, X-Team played against DTS, with the final score 5:1 in favour of the latter, while in their third game, X-Team lost 7-0 to current champions, Saints.

Women’s Premier League
On Friday, UNAM and WOBSC’s fixture ended in a 1-all stalemate. UNAM’s Tsungai Chadzinya and WOBSC’s Danielle Labuschagne were the goal scorers on the day.
On Saturday, DTS and WOBSC met each other at the WHS turf. In a game which was evenly contested in the first half, WOBSC got the better of DTS in the second half and eventually won the game 2:0.
Thereafter Saints played Wanderers with the former’s speedy play garnering eight goals against the latters’ two.
The 2019 Bank Windhoek National Outdoor League continue this week with exciting matches scheduled for Saturday (21 September) at the same venues in Windhoek.
