Shoprite maak skoon

Terwyl baie inwoners luilekker op 'n Saterdag agteroor lê en bietjie sport kyk, het een besigheid op Rehoboth besluit om die tyd beter te benut en die dorp skoon te maak, en sodoende in hul gemeenskap wat hulle so mooi ondersteun, terug te ploeg.

Volgens Vinzenco Bertolini, streeks menslike hulpbronne bestuurder van Shoprite, was die onlangse skoonmaakveldtog 'n gemeenskaps­projek. “Ons het gevoel dit is hoe ons aan die gemeenskap kan teruggee, veral in dorpe wat dit daadwerklik nodig het,” het hy gesê.

Hy het bygevoeg dat hierdie inisiatief ook 'n aksie is wat Shoprite as 'n groep regoor Afrika ingestel het.

Die personeel het langs die inkoopsentrum – 'n industriële erf wat leeg staan – skoongemaak.

Bertolini sê dit was ongelooflik om te sien hoe vuil die dorp eintlik is en hoe baie die inwoners in die gebied mors.

Altesame 17 personeellede het 245 sakke vol vullis opgetel. Maar dit stop nie hier nie.

“Ons het nog nie 'n datum vir die volgende skoonmaakaksie nie, maar ek verwag om binnekort meer inligting daar rondom te deel,” het Bertolini gesê.
