Soup for the soul
Many children of the informal settlements around Windhoek have been keeping warm this winter thanks to soup provided to them by Business Connexion Namibia.

According to Loraine Brink, the initiative began in 2015 and they have re-launched it every winter since then. It all started to get BCX staff involved in helping the less privileged and to aid them in getting through the winter months. This year they started on 8 June and officially ended the initiative on 10 August
“This year we visited 33 kindergartens with more than 1 700 children,” Brink said.
She says they will definitely continue with the project next year, as there are plenty of kindergartens they still want to visit. The staff is very excited about the project and will happily jump in to help again next year.
“In the beginning the whole BCX staff contributed money and then the company doubled this amount. Twenty-six BCX staff members were involved at distribution points,” she says. Brink prepared the soup for the learners and teaches.
BCX hopes to not end their project here, as they want to continue doing more for underprivileged children of Windhoek and surrounds. One of their future projects is to do something special during the Christmas season. They hope to take 150 children on a train adventure trip to Aris where they will meet Father Christmas. Each child will also receive a small gift and party food to make it a fun-filled day for everyone.
The company welcomes assistance and donations to make the day a success and to put a smile on the faces of the little ones.
