Spitvleis wat die mond laat water

Yolanda Nel ’n Nuwe eetplek het verlede Donderdag by die Grove Mall oopgemaak en ek kon natuurlik nie
anders as om daar aan te klop nie, veral nie toe ek sien dit is Midde-Oosterse geregte wat hulle
voorsit nie!
Baie ander het dieselfde idee en almal staan in Meat Point se ry om kos te bestel. Dié eetplek
spesialiseer in shawarmas en die beesvleis en hoender op die spit laat my mond behoorlik water.
Teen die tyd wat ons ons bestelling plaas, is die laaste pita reeds verkoop. Maar gelukkig is die
teleurstelling nie té groot nie en ons bestel wraps met beesvleis.
Die personeel is vriendelik en het geen probleem gehad om eers die disse met die vreemde name vir
ons te verduidelik nie.
Wanneer jou bestellingnommer gelees word, kan jy kies en keur tussen ’n verskeidenheid groente
wat saam met die vleis bedien word. Ons besluit op rooi paprika, tamatie, komkommer en ’n
heerlike sesamsaad sous. Dan sien jy sommer hoe jou kos voorberei word.
Elke happie is ’n mondvol en ons lek behoorlik ons vingers af. Die sous was ’n wenner en die vleis
supersag. Ons weet nog nie of ons meer agter die lekker aan wou eet en of dit nie die hol kol op ons
mae gevul het nie. Maar ek is daarvan oortuig dit was meer agter die lekker aan!
Wat ons wel weet is dat ons binnekort sal terug wees, volgende keer om ’n pita te probeer, of dalk
een van hul groter etes.
