Van 3 tot 5 Mei behoort die baan aan motorfietsentoesiaste, met die twee-jaarlikse Olifant-wedren op Gobabis wat 'n groot makietie beloof.

“Die Olifant-rally vind net elke twee jaar plaas en ons is opgewonde oor vanjaar se fees,” sê Barnard Kleynhans, adjunkpresident van die Gobabis Motorfietsklub en organiseerder. Dit beteken daar is die afgelope jaar hard aan vanjaar se fees beplan.

Die tydren word in samewerking met die Transkalahari End Resort – Die Dam aangebied met die organiseerders wat sê dit is 'n geleentheid vir die hele familie. Vrydag se pret en plesier sluit helikopterritte in, sowel as die eerste burnouts. Deelnemers sal ook dan aan Mnr Olifant Slurp en Mej Olifant Ivoor skoonheidskompetisies kan deelneem. En die manne moet nie die bierdrink-kompetisie misloop nie!

“Feesgangers kan uitsien na musiekvertonings, tradisionele speletjies en kan daar tot varswatervis gevang word,” sê hy. Daar sal ook stalletjies wees om van te kies en keur.

Die massarit vind Saterdag 4 Mei om 10:00 plaas, met die drag racing wat om 11:00 begin. Daar sal ook om 14:30 'n slow ride plaasvind. Die prysuitdeling en veiling vind daarna plaas, met groot pryse wat jagpakette insluit, wat op die spel is.

Sondag sluit die feestelikhede met die Biker's church af.
