A funding agreement between the embassy and the Especially Namibian Trust was recently signed, providing financial support of about N$101 000 to the trust.
The Especially Namibian Trust in cooperation with Wadadee Cares, recently set up a children’s home in Katutura, where a matron takes care of eight vulnerable children by ensuring their daily basic needs are met while providing them with a safe environment.
Furthermore, the home also provides after-school care for children of the community. Here they receive a warm meal every day along with homework support.
The home that was rented through the Especially Namibian Trust, is in dire need of furniture and basic equipment for the children and their matron to lead a normal life. The money will be used to furnish the house and make it liveable.
The equipment for the after-school care includes desks and chairs as well as enough crockery and cooking equipment for the feeding program.
By providing the children with a safe, clean and a protected home, their quality of life will be enhanced.
