Werksonderbrekings kom regering duur te staan

Werksonderbrekings by die ministerie van binnelandse sake en immigrasie se nuwe hoofkantoor in Windhoek-noord kan die regering 'n addisionele N$32,5 miljoen kos, het die minister van werke en vervoer, John Mutorwa, verlede week in die Nasionale Vergadering gesê.

“Die verwagte koste wat sal ophoop as gevolg van werksonderbrekings weens begrotingskortings vir die projek, is N$32 544 171,” het Mutorwa gesê. Dié bedrag sal waarskynlik nóg hoër word as die projek verder vertraag word. Boonop is gespesialiseerde dienste soos die installering van 'n PABX-telefoonstelsel, skrynwerk, reelings, naamborde en meer nog nie ingereken nie.

Wat die kostes met meer as N$1,4 miljoen verhoog, is tydverlengings tussen 22 Junie en 6 Augustus 2018, wat tussen Augustus 2018 en Mei 2020 tot bykans N$23 miljoen kan verhoog. Rente op laat betalings aan die kontrakteur beloop meer as N$8,2 miljoen.

Mutorwa kon nie sê wanneer werk aan die gebou weer sou begin nie.

Die aanvanklike koste vir die nuwe gebou was N$1 miljard – een van die regering se duurste eiendomme, tesame met die N$400 miljoen vir NamPol se hoofkantoor by Auss-pannplatz, en die N$400 miljoen vir staatshuis se administratiewe gebou.

Altesame 570 kapitaalprojekte was veronderstel om in die 2017/18 finansiële jaar voort te gaan, maar werk op 320 hiervan is tydens ver-skillende fases gestaak. In alle fases het die regering kostes aangegaan vir dienste wat deur konsultante gelewer is. – Nampa
