Classics for special needs

Scholars of the Windhoek International School organised a classical music concert tomorrow to raise funds for the Môreson Special School.

It takes place at the DHPS and starts at 18:00.

The two-hour show sees learners perform works from Chopin and Bach, to Mozart and Schubert.

The concept stems from grade 12 learner Selina Kinne who is busy with her Creativity, Action and Service component that is part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. This component includes having to organise a project.

Together with her team, they have been rehearsing tirelessly for Saturday's event.

Other participating musicians include Enrico Palascino, Jurgen Kriess and Gretel Coetzee.

The Môreson Special School is designed to educate and accommodate cognitively impaired children. “Môreson will use the donations towards a variety of projects, including acquiring more sports equipment and learning material,” Selina said.

Tickets cost N$100.
