In an effort to create a more sustainable transport sector in the country, SunCycles Namibia has an alternative mobility option available.

They specialise in e-mobility and solar recharge systems and are the first to make e-bike technology available in the country.

The e-bike is an electric bicycle that offers additional support to go uphill through a battery and motor. The batteries used can easily be recharged by the sun.

DIY-enthusiasts can also turn their own bicycles into an e-bike with a conversion kit that is already available.

SunCycles is a social enterprise and can be seen at the Tourism Expo taking place from 29 May until 3 June. During the expo they will introduce a new bicycle, the fat-e. This new addition is geared with extra broad tyres to move on the beach, over the dunes and through the bush. The fat-e has a less powerful motor and is perfect for adventurers who do not need as much support.

By test-driving the new e-bike during the expo, you are entered into a draw to win your own fat-e.
