Nashawn drops 'Without Me'
Swakopmund • Adolf KaureWell-known rhythm and blues musician George Marenga (26) better known to his fans as Nashawn, recently released his debut single, "Without Me".
The Swakopmund born and bred artist shared what the song is all about.
“At some point in our lives, we come across a love so beautiful that it seems as if it is there to stay, until things become the opposite of what they seemed. Then you start to realise that maybe, just maybe, you can't make him or her as happy as you thought you could. You then opt to free this person so he or she finds someone who can make them happier,” the artist told this newspaper.
The song was primarily produced by teenage prodigy and producer, Nostal6ia.
The singer said that Nostal6ia has produced for the likes of Ari Ang, formerly known as Arlinda and who is dropping her first full project soon. “Nostal6ia is working on making a name for himself in the industry while balancing it with school as he's quite the academic. Furthermore, the beat was also touched by MotionTheProducer who was Namibia's most streamed artist in 2018, while PhredGot1 mixed and mastered "Without Me".”
Asked whether the song was dedicated to someone, Nashawn was tight-lipped, saying he preferred not to comment.
Nashawn, who signed under the record label XCIV Sound Music Group last year, says he is working hard to release his debut album.
“I'm consulting various industry creatives for their input because I plan to release something worthwhile. Things are going at a slow pace at the moment. But I prefer it that way to allow myself more time to learn as I'm still in the process of taking off as a solo artist.”
