If you're looking to keep yourself hydrated, look no further than RO3 Water Okahandja and now also in Windhoek. As a market leader in supplying water, Natasha Ahrens who heads this local franchise, says the parent company's distribution network consists of more than 285 water purification plants, manufacturing facilities and shops in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.

Natasha says that RO3 Water offers a full range of beverage solutions. “The range includes bottled still, sparkling and refill water, carbonated soft drinks, energy drinks, iced tea drinks, juice, sports drinks, and water dispensers.” These beverages are still to be rolled out in Namibia starting with the sparkling water range that includes the plain sparkling water and flavoured sparkling water with different flavours anticipated to be on the shelves by 1 December 2019.

In addition to these products, RO3 Water can also design personalised labels for special events or corporate events. “This is a great way to promote your business or service, and creates a lasting impression in the minds of current and prospective customers,” she says.

Given the company's huge footprint, reusing and refilling their bottles is an important aspect of the business. “We encourage clients to support our refill concept. As this franchise has clients across Southern Africa we literally have the potential to remove 340 million bottles from landfills each year. What's more, not only can our water bottles be safely reused and refilled, they can also be effectively recycled,” she says.

Clients should take note that they can buy bulk at the outlets at cheaper prices. The main concept of this business is to provide safe and affordable water.

The process

Natasha says the RO3 Water purification process uses sand filtration to remove dirt, sludge and undissolved solids, before element filtration takes place using a 5 micron element filler. “Then reverse osmosis follows to remove 98% of all dissolved solids, including sodium, ahead of carbon filtration to removes pesticides, herbicides, chlorine and other organic chemicals.”

The second last step is the ultraviolet protection phase that sterilises the water and destroys all hormones, before the final step, which is ozonation. “In this step, ozone is injected into the water, killing all bacteria and viruses and sterilises the container,” Natasha says.

Thanks to this process, RO3 Water can sell safe water refills at the bargain price of N$1.50 per litre. “We also offer a pensioners day where they only pay N$1.20 per litre for refills on Thursdays,” she says. “Our products are super safe since our PET bottles are BPA free, our water is tested monthly by accredited laboratories, and our purification equipment is checked daily to ensure the highest product quality.

“We focus on service delivery, which includes delivering water to your doorstep. Pickups and deliveries are done on Mondays and Thursdays, including dispenser bottle refills and more.”
