Iitumba the series’ swan song

On Saturday morning, leg eight of the National Enduro Championships was held in the hills at Iitumba, on the southern outskirts of the capital.
The riders showcased their skills and determination during their competition across various classes. This was the last round in the national championship series.
In the Pro Class (Class 2), four riders pushed themselves to the limits, but only three managed to finish the challenging course. Quinton van Rooyen emerged victorious, with Keanu Weber-Trianus securing second place and Stuart Pearce taking third position.
The Senior Pro Class (Class 5) also saw fierce competition, with eight riders in contention, while seven completed the race. Jorn Greiter claimed first place, followed closely by Heiko Stranghöner in second spot and Kai Hennes in third.
In the Intermediate Class (Class 7) only four out of six competitors managed to cross the finish line after three laps. Riaan Kritzinger claimed the top spot, followed by Horst Becker and Brandon Juling taking third.
In the Rookie Class (Class 10) seven riders took on the course over five laps. André Barnard came in first, followed closely by Sanene Wittreich in second and Joshua van Niekerk in third.
Five riders entered in the Development Class (Class 11) with only two completing the course. Vincent Griebel and Paul Mans ended first and second respectively, while Felix Wittreich was disqualified.
Last but not the least is the Women’s Development (Class 12). Five braves entered and al five survived the challenge. Melani Mathews took the top honors, while the previous winner of leg seven, Maike Bochert, came second. Anthea Mans proof to be good enough for third place.

Class 2: 1 Quinton van Rooyen (2 hours 25 minutes 46 seconds), 2 Keanu Weber-Trianus (2:37:49), 3 Stuart Pearce (2:47:03).
Class 5: 1 Jorn Greiter (1:41:01), 2 Heiko Stranghöner (1:44:49), 3 Kai Hennes (2:05:00).
Class 7: 1 Riaan Kritzinger (1:50:55), 2 Horst Becker (2:12:24), 3 Brandon Juling (2:19:21).
Class 10: 1 André Barnard (1:35:20), 2 Sanene Wittreich (1:55:17), 3 Joshua van Niekerk (2:12:09).
Class 11: 1 Vincent Griebel (1:13:01), 2 Paul Mans (1:30:10).
Class 12: 1 Melani Mathews (00:55:41), 2 Maike Bochert (00:58:26), 3 Anthea Mans (01:07:30).
