The Graham Louw Invitational golf tournament was held for the second consecutive year at the Rössmund Golf Club outside Swakopmund over the past weekend.
A field of 26 teams (78 players) took to the fairways with a shotgun start, in a three-ball alliance scramble drive format, one score to count. The weather conditions were excellent and fortunately, the wind only picked up with the teams completing their rounds.
The overall winners were Oom Graham and the Grunts with 54 points. Team Total Energies – Henties Bay finished in second position with 52 points after a count out over SSS – Engen.
WEM (Namibia) finished in fourth position with 51 points and Sunday Hackers took the fifth place with 49 points.
Nearest to the pin prizes were recorded at hole 3 by Francois van Rensburg; at hole 7 by Mari Hoon and at hole 13 (nearest in two shots) by Kevin Wentzel. Theo Joubert recorded the longest drive at hole 15.
Thanks to the support of the players, the sponsors and the hard work put in by Clive Lawrence and his team the day was a huge success. It was also great to see the clubhouse full and buzzing and due to the many sponsors for the event, everyone went home a winner after a wonderful day of golf.
