Classics on the cards

The German Embassy announced the hosting of three concerts by the String Quartet of the Namibia National Symphony Orchestra – one each in Windhoek, Omaruru and Swakopmund.
After performing to great acclaim in Otjiwarongo and Swakomund last year, the German Embassy undertook to host three additional classical concerts by the Namibia Chamber Music Ensemble under the leadership of violinist Jürgen Kriess.
The first concert takes place on 23 March at 18:30 at the Central Hotel in Omaruru; at the Namib Primary School in Swakopmund featuring special guest Christiana Ast on piano on 24 March at 18:30; and at the DHPS auditorium on 27 March, also at 18:30, in Windhoek.
The quartet will perform pieces by Beethoven, Mozart and Dvorak.
Entrance is free.
