Don’t miss Viljoen’s ‘Domestic Adventures’
Domestic Adventures by Hercules Viljoen’s opens at The Project Room at 18:00 today, allowing for a refreshing reflection on the everyday.The collection takes the viewer on a “search for aesthetic qualities in simple subjects and celebrates the enjoyment of the creative process” by way of charcoal drawings, colourful paint and life-size sculptured objects.
Viljoen’s artistic achievements include various national and international exhibitions and a number of celebrated public commissions. Additionally, he served as director of the National Art Gallery of Namibia for five years and as Head of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at the University of Namibia for ten years.
An established artist, educator and creative asset to the local visual arts scene, Viljoen hold that his greatest satisfaction comes from “assisting others to develop their potential”.
Experience Viljoen’s Domestic Adventures at The Project Room from 11 to 26 November 2022. The gallery is located in Lazarette Square on 30 Julius Nyerere Street.
